Brazilian Timber

Brazilian Timber

Brazil, the nation with the second largest forest reserve in the world, also supplies van Hoorebeke Timber with a great share of its hardwood supply. Thanks to the daily contacts with our suppliers and the adherence to the strict Brazilian forest legislation, we guarantee a responsible and diversified supply of Brazilian wood species. In order to remain competitive, an expert purchasing team safeguards a fair price/quality ratio.

van Hoorebeke Timber mainly carries the FAS (First and Second) grade quality. With van Hoorebeke, a batch of FAS timber will be comprised primarily of the FIRST and therefore the best quality.

Preference is given to about ten wood species:

Angelim Amargosa                Angelim Pedra
Cumaru                                 Garapa
Ipé                                        Itauba
Jatoba                                  Louro Gamela
Massaranduba                      Tatajuba

A sound range of FSC-certified goods is purchased in Brazil and partly in Bolivia.

We may at all times recommend the appropriate wood species depending on their application (carpentry, landscaping, construction, groundworks or water works).

Besides raw square-edged timber, we may also supply you with a wide range of planed timber from our stock.

In our brand new planing mill, we may at your request plane profiles into terrace wood, façade covers, sheet piling, and storm boards. This is also where we plane our successful B-fix profile. Click here

Regular prospection and presence in South America allows van Hoorebeke Timber to work with a selection of the finest sawmills and suppliers.

Subsequent to the inspection of the timber batches in the country of origin by specialized graders, and subsequent to the timber checks on the Belgian wharves, all Brazilian timber is transported to our centrally positioned warehouses in Boom.

We kindly invite you to come visit and assess our stock.
