Softwood
van Hoorebeke Timber is the Belgian market leader in softwood, and also extends its role as an importer abroad.
van Hoorebeke Timber owes this position to its years of expertise and renown in the timber sector, to its purchasing and sales experts, to excellent logistics, and to its large and versatile stock.
In the new warehouses on the Kluizendok we centralize all of our softwood processes and we process around 200,000m³ annually. This volume consists of 60% Russian, 25% Scandinavian, and 15% Canadian timber.
van Hoorebeke Timber also owns a 30,000m³ wharf concession just next to the warehouses. Subsequent to unloading, the timber is transferred to the warehouse for labeling and stored by length. Annually, 30 to 40 ships with a volume of 1,000m³ to 7,500m³ are unloaded here.
The shipments are prepared 4 to 8 hours in advance, and once the transporter arrives, the truck can be loaded in the blink of an eye. We load 20 to 25 trucks daily.
Our planing mill is also located just next to the wharf concession. Click here
The total surface area of the Kluizendok including the wharf concession covers 120,000m², 65,000m² of which is occupied by offices, warehouses and the planing mill.
