Canadese Lariks

Canadian Larch

We now sell Canadian larch instead of Siberian larch. Canadian larch offers the same benefits and versatility as Siberian larch.

Siberian larch (Larix sibirica), or larch, is a conifer that grows in the extremely cold and harsh conditions of Siberia. These extreme conditions result in wood that is finer in texture, harder, and more durable than European larch.

Like Siberian larch, Canadian larch is also highly durable, rated in durability class 2-3, and can therefore be used outdoors without any treatment. Additionally, larch has excellent wear resistance.

Thanks to these properties, both Canadian and Siberian larch are attractive alternatives to more expensive tropical hardwood.. Larch is easy to work with and is suitable for a wide range of outdoor applications, such as cladding, decking, and construction, as well as for indoor use. Larch can be easily nailed or screwed, and under UV exposure, its color evolves over time from a warm golden-brown to grey.

With the introduction of Canadian larch, we now offer the same quality and durability. This wood is suitable for the same applications as Siberian larch, providing excellent weather resistance and a long lifespan.

Thanks to excellent contacts with the sawmills, we can offer this softwood in a variety of sections and qualities. The wood is profiled in our planing mill in Ghent, where, after planing, the profiles are strictly sorted for possible defects. In addition to our standard assortment, other tailor-made profiles are also available upon request.
